Washington – Today, U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) has introduced a resolution designating May as “Fallen Heroes Memorial Month.” The resolution aims to honor the millions of U.S. service members who have sacrificed their lives to safeguard the nation's freedoms.

In a statement, Senator Tuberville emphasized the significance of Memorial Day, stating, "Memorial Day is not about grilling by the lake – it is a solemn day to remember and honor the brave men and women who have given their lives for this country." He further added, "Our fallen heroes deserve to be celebrated for more than one day a year." Senator Tuberville expressed his personal connection to the cause, mentioning, "My father served in World War II, and I saw firsthand the tremendous sacrifices he made for our great country."

Senator Tuberville stressed the importance of dedicating an entire month to honor fallen heroes, saying, "If we are going to dedicate entire months to specific causes, the least we can do is designate May as ‘Fallen Heroes Memorial Month.’" He also expressed his pride in introducing the bill alongside Congressman Dan Bishop and highlighted the opportunity to reflect on the heroism of those who lost their lives while serving the nation.

In support of the initiative, Representative Dan Bishop (R-NC) has introduced companion legislation in the House.
